North Naples Residence

What began as a standard tile removal on a deteriorating rear balcony quickly uncovered a hidden hazard: extensive wood rot in the underlying plywood deck. Unaware of the structural compromise, the homeowners were unwittingly facing a serious safety risk.

The Dried-In team immediately stepped in to perform full structural repairs and a complete tear-off down to the wood deck. To bring the deck up to current building codes, we re-nailed the decking directly to the trusses for maximum stability. Next, we applied a high-performance Kemper AC Speed FR waterproofing system, backed by a 20-year No Dollar Limit (NDL) warranty, along with a self-adhered Polyglass TU Plus underlayment applied directly to the deck. We topped it off with elegant Crown concrete tiles for superior durability.

With a completely watertight barrier in place, the homeowners were able to install stunning new stone flooring with full peace of mind. To complete the transformation, we upgraded the gutter system with dark bronze gutters and white downspouts tailored to match the home’s custom color scheme.

The result is a home that is now safe, stylish, and fully protected, confident it will stay watertight for decades to come.

The rear balcony was badly deteriorating. Once the existing tile was removed, large sections of the plywood was rotting away and would have been a safety risk if we had not been hired to replace this area. The owners had no knowledge that there was an issue, highlighting one of the reasons having a hiqh quality waterproofing system at these areas is critical. We made the necessary repairs and then installed a Kemper AC Speed FR waterproofing system with a 20-year NDL warranty. Once completed the owner was able to install a wonderful stone flooring that will remain watertight for years to come.

This was a comprehensive project. We tore off the existing tile down to the wood decking. We inspected the condition of the deck for damage or deterioration and made the necessary repairs, bringing the decking up to current code by re-nailing the deck to the trusses. We installed a Polyglass TU plus underlayment self-adhered direct to the wood deck, followed by a beautiful Crown concrete tile. We also replaced the gutters and downspouts with a dark bronze color for the gutters and a white downspout to blend each into the paint colors selected by the owner.
