The client was experiencing multiple leaks at the wall transition where deteriorating shingles had begun to fail. To address the issue, we removed all existing shingles and flashing down to the plywood decking. Any rotten or compromised decking was replaced and re-nailed to meet current building code requirements.

We then rebuilt the base flashing system at the critical junction where the wall meets the modified bitumen flat roof. This included installing new modified bitumen base flashing along with custom-fabricated sheet metal terminations to ensure a properly sealed transition between the flat roof and the metal roofing.

Next, we installed Polyglass MTS high-temperature self-adhering underlayment over the plywood decking to provide a secondary waterproof barrier beneath the finished roofing system.

The final phase involved installing new 5V Crimp metal roofing using stainless steel fasteners in accordance with the Florida Building Code Product Approval. All joints and wall abutments were sealed using custom-fabricated metal components to ensure long-term watertight protection.

The result is a durable, code-compliant roofing system specifically tailored to the building’s unique transition points, engineered to withstand Florida’s demanding weather conditions.
